How do you care for your bronze kitchen faucets? Bronze is one of the most beautiful metals when properly maintained and it will make any kitchen a truly impressive one! Most homeowners decide against using bronze faucets in fear that they will be unable to maintain this type of faucet; but actually, this faucet is one of the easiest to clean using the right techniques and materials.

Before anything else, check the manufacturer’s instructions on how to care for your bronze faucets. Each manufacturer has its own instructions on cleaning and maintaining their faucets. Not complying with these instructions could lead to voiding your warranty. Some high quality bronze faucet manufacturers have long warranties while some even have lifetime warranties on their bronze faucet models so think twice before using any kind of chemical or household item to clean it.

Other simple ways to clean bronze faucets include using dishwashing soap and water. Simply add a few drops of dishwashing liquid to a cup of water, use a scouring pad and gently scrub the body of the faucet, the base, handle and the neck. Afterwards, rinse the faucet and check for any leftover marks. Repeat the steps and then dry completely. Use a soft cloth to wipe the areas near the faucet dry.

Use a small amount of baking soda on the area. Place baking soda on an old toothbrush and then scrub it along the surfaces of the bronze kitchen faucet and then rinse completely. Repeat the procedure for stubborn dirt and grime, but this time allow the baking soda to remain on the area for about 15 minutes. Remove by rinsing with water and then drying with a soft cloth.

The areas in between the knobs and the faucet faceplate can be some of the hardest areas to clean. Just like cleaning in between teeth, use dental floss to remove dirt from these hard to reach places.

There may be stubborn stains that could affect the beauty of your bronze faucet. These may be removed with the use of common materials that you can find at home. Mix a tablespoon of vinegar, a tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of all- purpose flour in a small bowl. Place this paste on bronze kitchen faucet stains using a wet cloth. Buff, don’t scour, the area to remove stains. Rinse and then wipe the faucet dry.
